Stix, Baer & Fuller (Dillard’s)(1955)
This branch of the Stix, Baer & Fuller department store at Westroads Plaza in suburban Richmond Heights, outside St. Louis, was designed by the Bank Building & Equipment Corporation of America. However, as commonly believed, this was not a design by W.A. Sarmiento. Westroads was sold in 1984 to Hycel Properties, which demolished most of the mall (but not the Stix store) and built the Saint Louis Galleria. Dillard's, which had acquired the old Stix chain in 1983, expanded the existing location at the same time. In 1991, the building was expanded south of the Atrium. These alterations have drastically modified the original design of the store and none of the original integrity can be seen today. Today, Westroads is known as the St. Louis Galleria and is owned by General Growth Properties.
